The festival will be opened with famous musical compositions of the northern composers. The soloist is the young Finnish baritone Ville Rusanen.

Friday, 18 May, 19:00 Concert with Kari Kriikku
Kari Kriikku, a world-famous clarinetist, will perform at the concert along with the State Hermitage Orchestra. The conductor is Sasha Makila.

Saturday, 19 May, 19:00 Concert "Rautavaara meets Sibelius"
YL Male Voice Choir is a Finnish pioneer of choral music. YL, founded within the Helsinki University in 1883, is Finlands oldest Finnish language choir. YLs cultural merits, long history of concerts, several tours abroad and numerous critically acclaimed recordings have established the choir as one of the most prominent male choirs in the world. YL is conducted by Doctor of Music Matti Hyökki.

The famous Finnish-Swedish actress Ylva Ekblad performs the monologue Maria Magdalena, written in Swedish by Margareta Skantze.
