International exhibition “Present for St. Petersburg”

The 1st international exhibition “Present for St. Petersburg” will take place on the 10-15th of February, 2007 in Central Exhibition Hall “Manege”. In the context of the exhibition fair fancy goods, goods of folk decorative fields and crafts, presents and souvenirs from different regions of Russia, neighboring and distant countries will be presented.

Introducing exhibition “Present for St. Petersburg” as an international one, the organizers are trying to represent original art of different nations at the exhibition.

The main exposition of the exhibition is represented by production of world-famous centers of folk arts of Russia. Among them there are varnished fields of Russia – caskets, pictures with miniature painting of various topics and astonishingly fabulous world.

Among them there are such famous centers as Mstera, Paleh, Holuy, Fedoskino and there is also presented a varnished miniature from St. Petersburg which reflects history and architecture of the city “Hohlomskaya” and “Gorodetskaya” painting on wood, porcelain of Gzhel, Lomonosov, Kislovodsk, enamel from Rostov, carved bone from Holmogorsk, “Zhostovskie” and “Nizhnetagilskie” painted trays, ceramics from Pskov attract attention by their beauty and conventionalism.

At the exhibition visitors can see and buy elegant goods of lace from Vologda and Eletzk, golden embroidery from Torzhok, artistic weaving and embroidery from different regions.

Undoubtedly, goods from glass with special hand engraving, which coats gauzy surface of glass with tracery picturies and makes an impression of an expensive jewelry, provoke interest.

For sure, it is impossible to go away from the exhibition without amber goods. From the earliest times amber attracts attention due to its astonishingly warm golden color, variety of tints and clarity.

Exquisite items of interior’s decoration out of bronze and natural stone, which are made by artists of St-Petersburg, they are real decoration of the exposition.

Goods of birch bark attract attention at exhibition and cause warm feelings. Russian “matreshka” a long time ago has become the most popular and wide-spread souvenir in the world.

Excellent souvenirs, such as dolls in folk and secular, historical and ethnographic clothes, embody great images of last and present time. In the context of the exhibition the best products of folk arts and crafts of masters and artists from different countries of CIS and other foreign countries are presented.

Aims of exhibition:

- preservation and development of best traditions of folk vernacular arts and crafts;
- creating favorable conditions for business communication and communication on creative work of representatives of small and medium business
- strengthening of interregional and international relations

The exhibition is of particular interest of specialists in the field of applied and decorative art, representatives of distributive trade of art objects, citizens and guests of the city.

Within the frame of the exhibition works specialized salon “DECORATIVE CROCKERY” works. Crockery, table appointments and goods for table decoration are presented.
